Member in Training Perspective:
The rooftop event for upcoming psychiatrists was a wonderful opportunity to network for social, academic and professional purposes. The event was set in a relaxed, casual and low stress after-work environment where trainees and faculty from different programs were available to discuss interests and opportunities. I think that it was a great opportunity for all Chicago-based psychiatrist in training to communicate, connect and have fun doing so. The food was great, the conversations and humor was even better. Unless on call, I will be definitely going to the next event, and I hope to see you there.

Early Career Psychiatist Perspective:
The rooftop event for in-training psychiatrists and early career psychiatrists was a lot of fun and a nice networking event. The setting was beautiful, the food was good, and everyone was in great spirits. I had the chance to talk with a few members-in-training about their goals and aspirations. I saw many others talking to trainees about the realities of post-residency life, both the good and the bad. One aspect of the event that I particularly liked was that it brought together residents from a number of different programs. The more we all work together and share resources and ideas, the better. I certainly will attend the next event with trainees both to mentor and to have fun.
