Addiction Psychiatry Committee:
Chair:  Dr. Jeffrey Roth
This committee is new and will be working on issues related to Addiction Psychiatry.

Budget & Finance Committee: 
Chair:  Dr. James MacKenzie
This committee plans the IPS budget and makes any necessary adjustments to it as the year goes on.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Committee:
Chair:  Dr. Daniel Martinez
This committee is newer and will be working on issues related to Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Constitution and Bylaws Committee:
Chair:  Dr. Sheldon Miller
This committee reviews and revises the IPS bylaws.

Distinguished Fellows & IPS Awards Committee:
Chair:  Dr. Philip McCullough
This committee selects the Society’s nominees for APA Distinguished Fellowship each year based on the APA guidelines.  Members of this committee must be Distinguished Fellows or Distinguished Life Fellows.

Ethics Committee:
Chair:  Dr. David Baron
This committee is responsible for investigating ethics complaints and is also in the process of making an ethics DVD. 

Geriatric Psychiatry Committee:
Chair:  TBD
This committee is new and will be working on issues related to Geriatric Psychiatry.   

Governmental Affairs Committee:
Chair:  Dr. Kenneth Busch
This committee works with a lobbing organization to advocate bills that are in the best interest of Illinois psychiatrists. They meet every other month and it can be attended by conference call. 

Membership Committee:    
Chair:  TBD
This committee reviews applications for dues relief, dues waiver and other issues related to membership. 

Newsletter Committee:

Political Action Committee:    
Co-chairs: Dr. Kenneth Busch and Dr. Shastri Swaminathan
This committee raises funds to support the work of the Governmental Affairs Committee. 

Private Practice Committee:    
Chair:  TBD
This committee is newer and will be working on issues related to private practice and eventually will provide mentors to early career psychiatrists. 

Public Affairs Committee:    
Chair:  Dr. Lisa Rone
This committee focuses on public affairs initiatives that support governmental affairs issues. 

Recruitment and Retention Committee:    
Chair:  Dr. Daniel Yohanna
This committee focuses on developing ways, including planning events, to recruit new members and retain members.  This committee usually meets virtually.   

Resident's Committee:
Chair:  Dr. Alex Timchak
This committee is new and and will work on issues related to resident's and preparation for life after residency with mentoring programs, networking events, etc.

Telepsychiatry Committee:    
Chair:  Dr. Jeffrey Bennett 
Works on issues related to Telepsychiatry.

Website Committee:    
Chair:  Dr. Robert Marvin
This committee helped develop a new IPS website and chooses the website content. The site is definitely a work in progress! 

Women's Committee:
Chair:  Dr. Anna Costakis
This committee is new and will work on issues related to Women's mental health and issues of work/life balance within the psychiatry field.
