The 1st Annual IPS/WPA Fall CME Meeting

Bringing Psychiatry into the Future
      October 16-17, 2009

The Illinois Psychiatric Society and the Wisconsin Psychiatric Association will be holding their first ever conjoined Annual Fall Meeting in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Meeting Objectives
*Recognize challenges and opportunities in the future of psychiatric practice and
  education.
*Describe how psychiatrists can implement continuous quality improvement strategies,
electronic medical records, and telepsychiatry in one’s own practice.
*Describe the evidence-based treatment options for youths with behavioral problems.
*Understand guidelines for interacting with the pharmaceutical industry, and identify
potential conflicts of interest in one’s own practice.

The first ever conjoined IPS/WPA fall meeting was a success.  Members raved about the content presented in the sessions and appreciated the scenery that beautiful, Lake Geneva had to offer in the middle of Fall.

All of the attendees enjoyed the networking opportunities both within their own district branch and with another state branch.
